VISX Star S4

Visx LogoThe VISX STAR S4 Excimer LASIK System is a product of the company that pioneered the development of excimer laser systems used for LASIK. This laser requires a shorter procedure time and contains sophisticated eye tracking capabilities. The ActiveTrak 3-D Active Eye Tracking can capture all three dimensions of intra-operative eye movements during your LASIK procedure without dilation of the pupils.

The VISX laser produces the smoothest surface on the cornea after your LASIK procedure, which promotes faster healing, resulting in optimal vision. The Star S4 laser is FDA approved for LASIK to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

The VISX STAR platform’s heritage of dependability and performance is well known for producing the best possible results for LASIK procedures. The STAR S4 from VISX has taken that reputation to an even higher level with automatic alignment for both eyes, horizontal alignment capability, multiple treatments and off- line programming, plus the following exciting features:

Variable Spot Beam Technology:

Variable-shaped beams ranging in size from 0.65 to 6.5 millimeters are scanned* and offset to allow personalized LASIK treatments. Exclusive SmartBeam technology adjusts beam size according to the LASIK treatment, minimizing corneal tissue removal (read more).

Larger LASIK Zones:

VSS (Variable Spot Scanning) technology adds a blend zone that increases the LASIK zone by 51%, increasing the overall diameter of the LASIK treated area to 8 millimeters.

*The VISX laser utilizes the VSS technology in creating a blend zone in myopic patients receiving 1.0 diopter or more of LASIK vision correction.

ActiveTrak 3-D Active Eye Tracking:

The only laser system that can capture all three dimensions of intra-operative eye movements during LASIK without the requirement of pupillary dilation.
