Health Plans: Seibel Vision Surgery is an in-network provider for literally dozens
of health and vision insurance plans. To find out whether we are
providers with your insurance, please contact us in advance
of your appointment. We provide complimentary insurance billing
and will help you obtain prior authorization for covered procedures
which require this process. Under many circumstances, insurance
companies consider LASIK
and some other procedures to be non-covered services. As each
case is unique, we encourage you to learn about your own plan's
offerings, and we will assist you in determining your coverage
where possible. Cataract surgery is covered by most insurance, including Medicare.
To find out about what is covered by your private healthcare insurance,
contact your plan provider or provide us with a copy of your insurance
card and we'll check for you.
Your out-of-pocket expenses for Medicare or private insurance
will depend of the type of coverage you have, whether you have supplemental
insurance and whether you have a deductible and/or co-payment on your
policy. To speak to a Medicare Customer Representative, call

Accounts to get reimbursed for eligible medical expenses. A Flexible
Spending Account or (FSA), (also called flex plan, reimbursement
account, Cafeteria Plan , Flex 125, Tax Saving Plan, Medical Spending
Account), is an employer-sponsored benefit that allows employees
to pay for eligible medical expenses on a pre-tax. If employees
expect to incur medical expenses that won't be reimbursed by their
regular health insurance plan, a Flexible
Spending Account is for them. Flexible Spending Account Benefits Flexible Spending Accounts save you money by reducing your taxes. The
contributions you make to a Flexible Spending Account are deducted from
your paycheck before tax. This decreases your taxable income and increases
your spendable income, thereby bringing down the cost of your chosen procedure. Use it or Lose it! It's important the you use the amount you have elected for your FSA
plan each year, because if it is more than your actual expenses, you will
have to forfeit the overage of funds you set aside. The excess amounts
cannot be carried over to the following year nor can your employer return
any money remaining in your FSA to you. Get
signed up for FSA through your employer today! Around 90% of United States
employees work for companies who offer a Flexible Spending Account, but
only about 18% of that workforce takes advantage of the program. This is
due to the fact most don't know about the FSA's existence! Ask your human resource director about open enrollment and the details
about flex spending. Pay in Full:
We also accept cash, personal checks, Discover, MasterCard, and
Visa. Tax Deduction Benefit:
The cost of LASIK may be tax deductible, according to the Internal
Revenue Service. The current law states that taxpayers with medical
expenses that total more than 7.5% of their annual incomes can deduct those
costs if they itemize, according to the Dow Jones Newswire. Because the
procedure "meaningfully promotes the proper function of the body," LASIK
qualifies as medical expense that can be deducted, the IRS said.
The IRS also said any out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs and insulin qualify as deductible medical expenses. The IRS discussed the tax treatment of medical expenses in revenue rulings 2003-57 and 2003-58. They will be published in the Internal Revenue Service bulletin dated June 2. The rulings and the bulletin can be found on the IRS Web site at irs.gov.
